On September 21, “Digging Hero,” a section of the competition for the Volvo Cup and a nationwide challenge comprised of operating excavators in an environmentally friendly manner, drew to a close. During the two-day contest, the players competed bitterly in categories of green classification, excavators tabbing, and saving fuels. At last, six players with the highest total scores emerged, and were given the opportunity to participate in the coming national finals held in Shanghai. The players will represent the western playing area.

This activity has ingeniously re-conceptualized the element of “Green”, and melds it into every aspect of this competition, in order to increase environmental awareness. Various interactive activities at the competition site also serve to motivate the players. Later on, the award party was held the next day, during which all the players, judges and other personnel gathered together to celebrate the close of the sectional in the western playing area.
