On October 19 th 2006, a welcome ceremony of the Second “Samsung Anycall Hope-school Science and Technology Fair” was held in Beijing Youth Palace . The president of Samsung Group China Pu Genxi, China Youth Development Fund Standing Secretary-general Xu Meng and the World Gym Champion Mo Huilan attended the press conference. Meanwhile, more than 115 students and teachers attended too, such as Zhangxiang Xueli School in Yuncheng city Shanxi province, Chishui Center School in Weinan city Shanxi province, and Yuanzhuang School in Nanyang city Henan province.

Today the teachers and students first visited China Science and Technology Exhibition which marked the beginning of the fair.

On the afternoon of Oct 19 th , Chinese Samsung leaders warmly welcomed the teachers and students in Beijing Youth Palace . From Oct 20 th , the students will have a 3-day “Science and Technology Fair” in Beijing and Tianjin . On Oct 20 th , teachers and students visited Tianjin Samsung Communication Technology Ltd. to learn more about the development history of mobile phones. In addition, Samsung will also arrange for the students to visit the Country Museum , Natural Museum and Beijing Ocean Museum . At the same time, as the sponsor of Global Mobile for 2008 Beijing Olympic Games, Samsung also took students to visit Beijing Olympic City Planning Museum to get a feel for the Olympic atmosphere.

At a press conference, the president of Samsung Group China Pu Genxi emphasized “Taking care of children is preparing for the country's future development. Samsung organized this “Science And Technology Fair” in order to help the Hope-school students to realize the importance of science and technology and set up right science and history concepts”. Then Mr. Pu said “As a part of ‘Samsung Hope Project', the trip began last year. We have a firm faith in not only building Hope elementary schools for the students but also supplying more chances for them to expand their knowledge.”

“Hope Project” is one of our government's most important commonweal sustaining project. The purpose is to support the depressed areas and build schools. From 2005, Samsung has donated about 9 million yuan to China Youth Development Fund named “Samsung Anycall Hope Project Fund”. This fund plans to build 45 hope schools from 2005 to 2007. In 2005, it has donated about 15 schools located in Hebei , Tianjin , Liaoning and Heilongjiang provinces; and this year will build 15 schools located in Shanxi , Anhui Jiangxi , Henan , Hubei , Hunan , Guangxi, Hainan , Guizhou , Sichuan , Gansu , Xinjiang and Xizang . By 2007, Samsung Anycall plans to set up an additional 15 hope schools.
