China 's vice general ¨Csecretary, Chen Xiangyang announced the results of the China Public Relations' Research Report of 2005 as well as the Top 10 brand management companies.

The company evaluations include year-end profit, number of employees, clientele, company name recognition, services provided and level of technology.

According to China 's Public Relations' research, the PR market in China (excluding Hong Kong , Taiwan and Macau ) has greatly developed this past year. In 2005 total profits of the Public Relations' sector was more than 60 billion RMB, an increase of 33.33% over last year. Other sectors such as consumer products (automobiles, home appliances), IT (computer software and appliances), fast food , telecommunications and medicine/health have also increased by 26%, 20%, 18%, 15% and 9% respectively. Entertainment, sports and non-profit organizations have also attracted much attention recently.

Public relations' companies typically include services such as media publications and relations, event management, government relations, crisis regulation and management, and client evaluation. PR companies' compete mostly for success in client relations, media relations and creativity. Common obstacles include media environment, market environment and company construction. Furthermore, company management, employee training and financial stability all affect companies' development.

The 2005 report expects 2006 to be an important year for the PR market. They predict it will increase by 30% again. They also predict consumer products, IT, fast food, telecommunications and medicine/health will maintain their advantageous positions in their respective markets. Sectors such as real-estate, finance, government and non-profit organizations are expected to supply PR companies with new clients.

Those in attendance at the conference agreed that public relations has been increasingly recognized in the professional sector. After the recent boom in public relations, companies are now faced with the challenge of maintaining growth and development. Tools such as new technology, innovative ideas and improved services will be invaluable to companies' success. In addition, strengthening the business construction, finding and training talented people and further perfecting management style will also be important for the development of companies. The Public Relations Committee should play a bigger role by implementing regulations for the PR sector, improving the professionalism of companies and organizing training for employees and new talents. The committee should also work to improve the overall market environment and to create a standard of PR services.

The Top 10, created by CIPRA, began in 2002 as a way to evaluate PR companies' overall success. There is both an international Top 10 and a domestic Top 10. The lists include all of the very best PR companies locally and abroad.

Pegasus Communications has been especially successful, gaining praise from their clients and conducting business in an internationally professional manner. Pegasus has been awarded several times by the PR sector. The company was first placed in the Top 10 in 2003 and has continued to prove its success in the PR market by winning yet another spot in the Top 10 this past year.
